Boost immunity to beat winter illness

With the advent season upon us, and the hope it brings, comes additional reminders that we live in a world that has sickness and disease. Simple measures you can do to help your immune system fight for your health.

  • Getting enough rest

  • Enjoying the sun (try to get 20 min of sunlight per day on your skin)

  • Staying hydrated

  • Decreasing stress

  • Keeping your hands clean and never eating with them (for hand held foods like sandwiches, etc…i even use a napkin or cut it up and eat with a fork); keeping your hands out of your face/eyes/nose/mouth

  • Supplements: Echinacea, Elderberry, Vitamin C (especially if you already feel a cold/flu coming)

  • Cough: Local honey and lemon is research proven better than cough medicine (reminder: no honey for a child <1 years old)
